Golden Gate

Recently, I took a trip back to my old stomping grounds, San Francisco.
After living there for a while, the innocent and majestic beauty of the Golden Gate Bridge was robbed from me by a random person I met in the city that informed me of all of the suicides that happen every year. Last week, we were on that cruise ship I photoshoped in, and as we cruised under the bridge my thoughts were tainted with a fear of a falling jumper....
For some cryptic reason, the bridge attracts severely depressed and disturbed people as a way out of life. I learned there are boats docked under the bridge on constant watch for jumpers, because it happens so frequently. I believe the average is once every week or every other week.
After living here in the south, the land of awful drivers, it has been brought to my attention the abundance of road memorials. They litter the intercity streets and also the major freeways connecting the Gulf Coast.
I wonder what would happen if families began putting floating "bridge memorials" in the bay where the bodies met their end.
Yes it is cryptic, but it is just a thought I wanted to illustrate.
I wonder if we started doing this, if perhaps the number of jumps per month would decrease?
